Introduction
The Film Production Technology Associate in Science (A.S.) degree at Valencia College is a two-year program that prepares you to go directly into a specialized career in the film industry.
Nationally recognized for making students employable, the program provides training for entry-level positions in six major areas of film production: gripping, electrical-lighting, editing, sound, camera and set construction. All classes are hands-on and are taught by professional filmmakers who use their connections to help students find work on film crews, learning alongside professionals on actual film sets. Valencia film students have had a hand in 47 feature films in the last two decades. Each year, Valencia’s Annual Film Celebration showcases the feature-length films that Valencia’s film production students worked on, as well as student-made short films.
