The Santiago Canyon College (SCC) English Language Program (ELP) is an intensive English program designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced level international (F-1) students looking to improve their English skills in preparation for study at U.S. colleges and universities. The program is designed for students who have some knowledge of English.
The ELP is both a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)-preparatory and academically oriented. These classes are offered through a 16-week semester (Fall & Spring semesters), and an 8-week session (Summer session). Each session consists of 20 hours of instruction per week.
International students are provided with opportunities to interact with SCC students by participating in Conversation Partners activities. Speech workshops are provided and integrated into the ELP curriculum....

Austin Community College's Intensive English Program (IEP) is currently accepting applications. Students can apply to the program, and if accepted, be issued a Form I-20 to apply for an F-1 student visa in their home country.
There are four levels of the Intensive English Program (IEP), held in eight-week sessions. There are two eight-week sessions each Fall and Spring semester, and one eight-week session in the Summer semester. Each session of the IEP costs $2,200 U.S. dollars.
Upon successful completion of the Intensive English Program, International students are eligible for admission to an academic program, once all other admissions requirements have been met.

A schedule hold is in effect during this time which prevents students from making changes to their schedule. Students wishing to continue enrollment in ESL courses during the summer must notify Student Academic & Financial Services.
Students enrolled in ESL courses will be allowed no more than 3 attempts to successfully complete each course. Students who are unsuccessful after the second attempt of a course will be assigned an academic standing hold and be placed on academic probation. The IEP offers two levels of English instruction: Intermediate and Advanced. Students attend class 4 hours daily in Listening/Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Grammar.
