Introduction
In this course, students will learn how businesses communicate to their different stakeholders in the context of the Internet and social media, with a focus on how different communication models are used on the most popular social media platforms.

Teaching method
All classes will be delivered in person at the University of Edinburgh’s Holyrood Campus.
Assessment
The course will be assessed through a 2500-word essay. In preparation of the essay, students will be encouraged to submit an essay plan of up to 750 words on which feedback will be provided.
Program Outcome
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of the functionalities of different social media platforms.
- Describe the key elements of a digital marketing campaign.
- Identify the digital position of a business and how to improve its visibility online.
