Introduction
Are you interested in a career that requires hands-on and problem-solving skills? Consider becoming a welder!
The Welding Applied Certificate is a 20-week program with 5 weeks of career skills training and a paid 8-week work placement.
Build your knowledge and skills in operating welding equipment and performing basic welding operations. You’ll get hands-on instruction in shop practice and safety, oxy/acetylene fusion welding, cutting, gas metal arc welding (MIG), and shielded metal arc welding (stick) welding. Plus, you’ll develop additional skills in the work experience component.
When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for an entry-level job in a variety of industries that need welders. Trade time and academic credit may be available for graduates who find employment in the trade and register as apprentices.
