The purpose of the FSCC Farm and Ranch Management Associates of Applied Science degree is to provide students with the basic skills and knowledge needed in different agriculture industry sectors. The curriculum suggested is for students planning to enter an agricultural career upon completing the FSCC two-year program.

Students will learn the fundamentals of agriculture, focusing on crop production and business. Emphasis is placed on entrepreneurial and field training. Students will also learn the basic principles of our economic system and government policies and programs relating to agriculture.

The work of our graduates has touched the lives of some of the biggest names in sports. Actually touched them. That’s because some of that beautiful turf they walk and run on is the result of a State Tech grad’s skill and effort.

The Field Crops option of the Agricultural Business Management Technology Program is designed to provide students with a common core of management skills and additional training related to field crops, weed, insect, and plant disease control.

This option provides career preparation in the skills needed to work in horticultural related service industries and wholesale and retail sales of horticultural products.

The Agri-Business A.A.S. program is designed to provide technical and business training for established local business enterprises and to increase their profitability and expand their customer base outside of the greater Jefferson-Lewis County areas with educated and well-trained staff.

The Agribusiness Technology curriculum is designed to provide the entrepreneurial and technical skills necessary to manage a profitable, environmentally sound, community-based small farm or agricultural business.

The Agricultural Equipment Technology Program provides a quality learning atmosphere and hands-on training designed to prepare students for this rapidly changing industry.

The degree in Beef and Livestock Studies is geared towards providing a solid base in the renewed interest and increase of meat animals' production and marketing in the Northeast.

Agribusiness is the economic sector that includes all agriculture and agriculture-related commercial endeavors. Agribusiness includes all the steps required to produce an agricultural goods – whether crop or livestock – and send it to market: production, processing, and distribution, both across the country and around the world.

The Agriculture Business Program is a two-year program designed to prepare individuals for jobs in the rapidly expanding field of agriculture supply, distribution and service.

While many people see agriculture as just a labour of love taking place in dusty fields and barns, agriculture is a business sector in today’s global economy.

The Associate in Applied Science Degree in Agricultural Business is designed for individuals with a strong interest in occupations that relate to farming, nursery production, landscape design, landscape maintenance, the production of organic fruits and vegetables, and similar agricultural endeavours.

The agricultural technology degree is designed to train individuals to work in agri-business or in various other aspects of the agricultural industry, depending upon the specific Certificate program completed at Michigan State University (MSU).
