This degree allows you to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business. It's designed so that students earn certificates that add up to a degree.

The general business program is intended to provide students with a balanced curriculum composed of liberal arts, general business, and technical skills to develop a unified awareness of the activities and operational setting of a business. The program is intended to lay a foundation for a variety of entry-level positions in business that may ultimately lead to specialized study in some area of management training.

Students will learn the basic working knowledge of general business theory and practice, discover how current technology is appropriate to business operations, and gain the ability to communicate effectively in an organization. Eligible students can also complete an internship or Co-op to gain real-world experience and see first-hand how businesses in their area operate.

The Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service Education is designed to prepare students for a funeral service career. All aspects of funeral service will be taught within the scope of this program. Academic and technical skills will be taught in general business areas, industry regulations and laws, embalming and restorative art skills, funeral service applications, funeral home management, grief counselling, etc.

The Applied Business Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree program is a sequence of courses that provide students with a group of customer service speciality courses, general education courses, work experience in a related area, and courses in a speciality area.

The Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration is designed to provide academic training for students seeking a four-year degree in business.

Accounting skills are broadly applicable to virtually every aspect of business operations. As an accounting clerk or bookkeeper, the student will be responsible for maintaining accounting records of a business, analyzing financial reports, managing budgets, and being responsible for specific parts of the records such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll.

Texarkana College recognizes the individual student's growing and diverse objectives and has designed the Business Office Technology program to meet those needs. In this program, students can develop office skills to function in the business world of the 21st Century successfully.

The Accounting and Business Department's mission at Pratt Community College is to prepare students for transfer to the four-year college/university or employment in careers in the business field.
