The small business for entrepreneur’s curriculum offers a well-balanced program of liberal arts courses, general business subjects, electives, and the necessary training to meet the challenge of today’s highly competitive business world. The small business for entrepreneurs curriculum is designed for those who already own and operate a small business, who are contemplating starting their own small business, or who seek employment opportunities as managers in small business.

Employers are looking for competent, knowledgeable managers to run their businesses. Students in this program receive the education for entry-­level employment in settings that range from retail sales management to hospitality and resort facilities to supervisory management.

The Associate in Applied Science with a Major in Accounting prepares the student to record and post transactions, prepare to adjust entries and financial statements, perform general accounting operations, process accounting information using a microcomputer to produce various accounting records, and maintain books for municipalities, state, and government agencies.

Prepare for a career in recreational equipment repair in our dual-track Boat and Watercraft Technician program. Through classroom and lab experience, you will develop competence in repairing the most modern recreational equipment—Master the skills needed to pursue a career in marine engine technology.

Students will learn the basic working knowledge of general business theory and practice, discover how current technology is appropriate to business operations, and gain the ability to communicate effectively in an organization. Eligible students can also complete an internship or Co-op to gain real-world experience and see first-hand how businesses in their area operate.

The Business and Marketing Management Technology program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students to take their places in the business and social world. The program offers major options in Business Management and Fashion Merchandising.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Applied Technical Management allows a student to complete a diploma in a Technical College System of Georgia program area and continue to this AAS.

The Business Management and Accounting program prepares students for a variety of responsible managerial positions.

The General Business program is designed to prepare students to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions and processes of a firm or organization.

The Business Management associate degree program, prepares experienced workers for entry into management or supervisory occupations in a variety of businesses and industries.

The Business Office Management program at Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) offers students the opportunity to earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree and Career Certificate. NW-SCC prepares students for a career in a professional office environment.

Victoria College Business Management Program offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in business management and one Level I certificate and three Occupational Skills Certificates.

This two-year program prepares individuals for careers as business professionals, supervisors, managers or to own small businesses. The curriculum is designed for students who want to take the business and technical courses necessary to enter the workforce and begin careers with the option to take the general academic courses associated with a four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree at a later time. The degree plan includes up to 36 credit hours of academic courses. Under the current inverted Bachelor of Applied Science degree plan at Lamar University, 24 credit hours of technical courses and all academic classes should transfer to a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Furthermore, the 36 units in academic courses should transfer to any four-year public college or university in the state of Texas.

The curriculum in this program emphasizes high standards of proficiency in communication, technology, and information management. This degree will prepare students for careers in customer service, supervision, software application, and computer support in an office environment.
