The purpose of this course is to provide counseling and assistance. By drawing on their highly specialized knowledge and skills, the workers are able to provide personalized support, coordinate with experts in other fields, and enhance community welfare in dealing with welfare issues in many areas. Our graduate students can earn credits (common core courses and specialized courses in welfare for the elderly) to become certified social workers by taking certain courses in the graduate program in social work.

After gaining an understanding of the language of business (=accounting), students use financial statements to analyze companies’ profitability, safety, and growth potential. These analyses help to cultivate individuals capable of supporting the formulation and implementation of business strategies.

To increase Japanese language abilities required for college education, and to deepen understanding of contemporary Japanese society and culture. In first semester classes, social problems will be introduced by the instructor; students will take turns presenting these problems and discussing them together. In the second semester, students will consider problems of contemporary Japanese society in comparison with the present situation of their own home country.

In the summer of 2019, 12 students from Fukuoka Prefectural University visited the historical city of Bath, one of the United Kingdom's most beautiful cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While there, they experienced the British way of life by doing a homestay, participated in English language classes at Bath College, and explored other world-famous places of cultural significance such as Stonehenge and Oxford. Our students prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime experience by attending a special orientation course prior to departure. Like the program itself, this course is accredited and focuses on "survival English," critical thinking, and the many cultural differences between Japan and the UK.

We will reconsider the way and practice of social welfare so far in relation to the living environment and health of human beings who live independently, and instead of simply seeing children and the elderly as "vulnerable people in need of assistance", "community" We will study various issues such as building a welfare culture in the local community, considering it as a "living subject who creates a community".

In this course, we educate students and undertake research about principles and advanced technologies related to production, preservation, distribution and consumption of foods, with a focus on marine products. Especially, we comprehensively educate and undertake research focusing not only on securing and improving the safety and healthiness of foods in the chain from resources to consumption, and on improving the functionality of foods from the viewpoints of promoting human health and constancy, but also on developing the designing and performing abilities required for the multidisciplinary development of technologies, from the viewpoints of chemistry, microbiology, physics and engineering, supporting the safety, healthiness and functionality of foods.

In this course, students will learn basic principles of immunology including the cellular and molecular mechanism of innate and adaptive immunity. The course also provides the clinical importance of immunology in various diseases such as HIV/AIDS, autoimmunity, and allergy. Then, students will learn how the immune response can be manipulated by vaccination to combat infectious diseases and cancer.
