Within the framework of the objectives and policies of ANUIES , this Directorate assumes the commitment to participate in the design of proposals and execution of strategic projects for higher education in the country, in correspondence with structural issues on the higher education agenda in the country. national context. In both cases, it operates under procedures that imply efficient management of information, the development of knowledge, the production of ideas, and their translation into lines of action that guide decision-making.

Ultimately, it aims to:

“Apply the results of the research work on strategic areas of educational processes oriented to learning, present in the upper and upper secondary levels, that generate new knowledge, useful to support the design and promotion of policies, in the framework of the projects of the Academic General Directorate and, consequently, the Work Plan of the Executive General Secretariat. "

Currently developing projects that constitute matters of the greatest relevance, such as student care, through the transformation of learning processes, the new role of the teacher in a more dynamic, more demanding institutional framework; the strengthening of tutoring programs and the construction of a map of educational research in Mexico.
