Our Luxembourg Summer Programme provides students with the opportunity to delve into the latest trends in finance at the heart of Europe’s financial hub. Uncover the transformative potential of blockchain and decentralised finance (DeFi) and gain a comprehensive understanding of ESG topics. This is all complemented by visits to financial institutions and corporate headquarters, offering a real-world perspective on the theories learned.

DeFi: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: shaping the future of Finance
In this course taught by Mr. Laurent Marochini* (CEO Standard Chartered Luxembourg), students will uncover the transformative potential of blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi). They will delve into the principles of blockchain, its applications in finance and fintech, and how it can shape and redefine traditional finance.
*This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact in the digital assets industry over the past year. The recipient of this award is someone who has shown outstanding leadership, innovation, and influence in the field, driving growth and fostering a positive environment for digital assets in Luxembourg.
Sustainable Finance (in cooperation with EFPA – European Financial Planning Certification) and the Luxembourg Green Exchange
Mr. Patrick Levaldaur, Chairman of the EFPA, will lead the course. It will cover various aspects related to sustainable investing, banking, and financial practices within the context of Luxembourg's finance industry. The Professor will go through the introduction of sustainable finance, the regulatory framework, sustainable investment strategies, the green financial products and services, CSR, and case studies and practical applications. In addition to the course, a certificate of participation will be delivered by both ESSCA & EFPA.
Extra-curriculum
- Exclusive 2-day pass for each participant to the International Tech Fair "Nexus 2050", the largest IT event in Luxembourg. This year, the fair will focus on artificial intelligence, sustainability, cybersecurity, and financial technology, as well as talent attraction and development.

*Topic: Sustainable debt instruments' role in the transition to net zero. The Green exchange intervention during the programme will focus on different sustainable debt instruments (green, social, sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds) and their contribution to achieving Paris's objective and the SDGs. The intervention will cover the role of stock exchanges in the transition, particularly the central role of LGX in sustainable finance on local, European and international levels.
Class time and textbooks
Generally, students will have up to six contact hours per day. These contact hours also include those of the field visits, which are directly subject-related. Students will not need to use particular textbooks. All material is provided by the lecturers, but a laptop is highly recommended.
