Introduction
Laurel Technical Institute's Industrial Maintenance Technician program is a 12-month diploma program with a semester of electrical training, a semester of mechanical principles, and a semester of computerized automation/mechatronics education. Mechatronics is state-of-the-art training that sets apart LTI's Industrial Maintenance Technician graduates.
Students will learn to:
Install
Troubleshoot
Repair
Upgrade electronic and computer-controlled mechanical systems.
Students will also study blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, understand precision measuring instruments, operate metalworking machines to make housings, fittings, and fixtures, repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies. Students will learn to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with learning about judgment and decision-making.
