Introduction
Students in the Psychology and Sociology department have direct contact with instructors who have been or are currently psychologists, therapists, or counsellors. The classes in this department are designed to prepare psychology or sociology major to think critically, which is necessary when dealing with people. Classes in this department stress the theories, ideas, and practical knowledge that students continuing to a four-year college will need to have in their pursuits for graduate degrees in psychology or sociology.
The Social Work option curriculum is designed to prepare students for transfer to a Bachelor's program in Social Work. Students should consult the college or university catalogue to plan to transfer and carefully select courses that will meet requirements for both the baccalaureate and associate degree programs.
