Certification

Students have the opportunity to earn the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician industry credential.

The program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills focused on workplace safety including lockout/tag out procedures, OSHA regulations, quality control, employability skills, and will stress the understanding and demonstration of tools, machines, and instruments.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: Students who earn the Certified Production Technician credential may choose to articulate 15 credit hours into an AS in Engineering Technology degree, 9 credits into an AS in Manufacturing Technology, or 6 credits into an AS in Electronics Technology.

National Science Foundation Awards NFCC $187,267 Grant to Build Manufacturing Certification Dual Enrollment Program for Community

NFCC has received a three-year, $187,267 grant from the National Science Foundation to develop an advanced manufacturing dual enrollment program in Madison County. The project will open new career pathways for local high schools and is designed to lead students successfully from high school to NFCC, and then to either higher education or employment in the advanced manufacturing sector.

The XCEL-IT grant program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of Education Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program. The program is being offered through NFCC as part of a consortium of seven colleges in the state of Florida.
