Introduction
The Accounting program offers an Associate Degree option, designed to accommodate students who are just beginning their accounting studies to students who wish to qualify for CPA certification.
Accounting is vital to successful business operations, and accounting students are exposed to an excellent range of courses and can look forward to careers as accountants, accounting clerks, account specialists, tax accountants, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), or bookkeepers.
This program is also now being offered in an accelerated format for those students looking to complete the first two years of their degree in 12 months or less.
The Accounting Associate in Applied Science is not intended to be a transfer program. If a student is interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, it is advised that the student enroll in the Business Administration (Associate in Arts) program at Northampton.
Admissions
Curriculum
On its own, Northampton's associate's degree will qualify you for a range of employment opportunities, including entry-level accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and more. If your plan is to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), an associate's degree from Northampton is an affordable way to start down the path toward the required bachelor's degree.
