Access to HE (Higher Education) in BUSINESS Requirements:

IELTS 4.5 in each section and overall 10+2/HSC qualification or A levels equivalents £6000 fees (£3000 deposit and £3000 on enrollment)

Access is an alternative route to enter University for adults. The Access to Higher Education Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification by higher education institutions in the UK and allows people with a mature attitude towards learning, who may not have reached their full potential at school to return to education.

Duration:

Under 15 hours per week

Entry Requirements:

• GCSE grade C or above in Maths & English or Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy, depending upon your future career choice.
• Commitment and motivation to succeed, this course requires a mature approach to learning.

What you will learn:

Study Skills including reading and note taking, written and oral presentation, research skills, computer skills (word processing) and exam techniques and practice. Subject Units from a chosen route, for example, Psychology, English & Humanities, Teaching, Social Studies/Social Work, Business & Environment, Applied Sciences and Health Professions and Combined Studies.

What next?

Successful students can progress to Higher National Diplomas and Degree courses in a wide range of subject areas. Past students, for example, have undertaken degree courses in English, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Law, Media Studies, Occupational Therapy, Environmental Studies and also Teacher Training. They have attended a wide range of local universities, including York, Hull, Lancaster, Leeds, Sheffield Hallam and Lincoln, some going to universities further afield such as London and Cambridge. Many students progress to the wide range of degree courses available at Grimsby Institute franchised by some of the above universities. The range of careers available to you will obviously depend on your choice of Higher Education course.
