The Sustainable Fashion Summer Course gives you the techniques and tools you need to make a fashion brand, its products, design processes, marketing, management and the materials it uses, truly sustainable. It’s a fundamental theme for the industry and involves every stage of the product life cycle: design, the purchasing of materials, production, logistics, product use and end of life.

The Winter School offers a one-week full-time multidisciplinary program at the Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry Department (DCCI) of the University of Pisa. It is devoted to training students with a technical-scientific background on the advances of analysing materials of interest in environmental and green chemistry. Note that, even if the focus of this year is biopolymers, the knowledge acquired during the school may be applied to several other materials. The focus will be mainly on PhDs, but master’s degrees and post-docs are also welcome.

Perhaps the greatest challenge facing humankind is anthropogenic climate change, the rapid warming of the earth’s temperature driven by the consumption of fossil-fuels and emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. In this course you will investigate the economic consequences of both action and inaction on climate change, investigating case studies on a local, national, and international scale. You will examine the political challenges faced by national governments and international organisations in tackling global emissions, and assess the impact of treaties such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.

At our 2024 Sustainability Summer Programme, we offer students the chance to join our world class academic colleagues from the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy to look at the concept of Sustainability and how STEM can help society work towards this goal. Within this accredited course, we will explore different areas of STEM with a view to encouraging and inspiring innovations by bringing people together from all over the world to explore practical solutions.

How do we explore and imagine possible pathways to increase our resilience and capacity to adapt? This workshop will explore these questions and help build an understanding of the trajectories, impacts, and influences of climate change.
