The GTA University Centre was opened in November 1996. It marked the culmination of a remarkable combined effort between the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and the States of Guernsey to invest in its most valuable asset – its workforce.
Since then, the GTA has earned an admirable reputation for providing a first-class learning and resource centre, as well as facilitating top quality training and development programmes. UK universities delivering higher education programmes, and specialist training providers are commissioned to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of technical and soft skills short courses, meaning that more than 7,000 delegates have been able to attend programmes at the GTA since its inception. This is a considerable achievement for such a small institution.
