Classrooms and Amenities

The IH San Diego campus is a medium sized modern facility with large bright classrooms and first-rate student amenities. Small class sizes and a diverse mix of nationalities offers students an intimate learning atmosphere few larger institutions can equal.

English Courses

IH San Diego offers an Intensive English Program for adults and very popular summer and winter Junior programs for young learners aged 13 -17. All English courses are taught by experienced, qualified instructors dedicated to their students' academic outcomes.

Intensive English Program (IEP):

IEP is designed for students who want to continue their studies in American universities or colleges. It is also an excellent choice for students who will take exams such as the IELTS, Cambridge or TOEFL.

General English Program:

This program is designed for students who want to improve their language skills and for those who want to prepare for IEP courses.

Junior Programs:

Unique, educational and fun programs designed for young learners and taught by educators experienced with children and young adults.

By using a communicative, student-centered approach, IH San Diego provides its students with a stimulating classroom environment. General English classes focus on integrating the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing with pronunciation, grammar and lexical components. The overall emphasis is on building confidence and improving fluency.

Maximum number of students per class: 15 Offered year-round Minimum age for adult programs: 16

• Semi-Intensive 15 lessons/clock hours per week The Semi-Intensive Program allows students to take Core classes in the morning. Periods B , C & D • Intensive 20 lessons/clock hours per week The Intensive Program is the most popular program at IH San Diego as it allows students to take both Core and Communication Skills classes in the morning. Periods A, B, C & D • Intensive Plus 30 lessons/clock hours per week (Only offered to U.S. residents or individuals on non-immigrant visas that allow full-time study) Students enrolled in this program may take a combination of Communication Skills, Core & Elective classes.
