Our English classes are taught by dedicated instructors who use their imagination and experience to maximize each student's learning potential. The Tufts English Language Programs are innovative in the way they combine classroom material with real-life experience. Class time is complemented by a host of real-world activities that help you to live the language as you learn it. You will speak and use the language each day, which is the natural way to improve your ability and confidence. During the six-week program, you will build skills to thrive in graduate school and the workplace. You’ll also earn credit hours in a special course taught by faculty from Tufts School of Engineering.

To apply for this program you must have:

A completed undergraduate degree An intention to pursue STEM-related studies at a university or college A minimum TOEFL score of 71 (internet), 197 (computer), or 530 (paper)

Note that priority will be given to incoming Tufts M.S. students.

Our Institute for International Scholars will prepare you for graduate school programs by providing focused training in writing and communication skills. Our seminar classes closely resemble the classroom experience of U.S. graduate programs. During the six-week program, you will build the skills and confidence necessary for success in your graduate school experience while exploring the Greater Boston area.

Program Requirements

To apply for this program you must have:

A completed undergraduate degree An intention to pursue further studies at a university or college A minimum TOEFL score of 71 (internet), 197 (computer), or 530 (paper) Program Curriculum

Your program will consist of two main classes and afternoon extracurricular activities and excursions. You are invited to participate in the Discover America excursions on Wednesday afternoons that explore the greater Boston area. Classes meet weekdays from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Classes have an average of 10 students and last 1 hour and 45 minutes.... [-]
